UEFA welcomes Federal Supreme Court decision

UEFA has welcomed the news that the Swiss Federal Supreme Court has dismissed Fenerbahçe SK's appeal against the decision by the UEFA disciplinary bodies in 2013.

UEFA has noted with satisfaction that the Swiss Federal Supreme Court has dismissed the appeal lodged by Fenerbahçe SK against the decision rendered by the UEFA disciplinary bodies in 2013.

Following decisions by UEFA's Control and Disciplinary Body in June 2013 and UEFA's appeals body in July 2013, Fenerbahçe had been excluded from participating in the next two UEFA club competitions they qualified for, including the 2013/14 UEFA Champions League. This decision was also upheld by the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) on 28 August 2014.

This Swiss Federal Supreme Court decision now renders closed all disciplinary proceedings related to this case, and confirms that all decisions taken by the UEFA disciplinary bodies in this respect, were appropriate.
