UEFA is pleased to announce that Abritel-HomeAway is joining the UEFA EURO 2016 commercial programme as a national sponsor and will also serve as the official fans' accommodation service.
Abritel-HomeAway is the first short-term rental provider ever to sponsor the UEFA European Football Championship. Together, we will host millions of fans in France this summer, enabling them to participate in Europe's premier national team footballing event, taking place from 10 June to 10 July.
As part of the UEFA EURO 2016 partnership, Abritel-HomeAway is increasing its inventory of short-term rental property listings in all ten host cities in France, giving fans the opportunity to stay in an entire house or apartment during the tournament.
HomeAway properties provide a spacious, flexible and affordable alternative to hotels for groups of fans, friends or families to enjoy the event together.
Guy-Laurent Epstein, marketing director of UEFA Events SA, said: "We are delighted to welcome Abritel, French brand of HomeAway, as a national sponsor and official fans' accommodation service for UEFA EURO 2016. We are excited to partner with a company with digital expertise at its heart and a leader in its field. In turn, we look forward to working closely together, using their huge network of properties in France and online strength, making it easier than ever for fans to fully enjoy their EURO 2016 experience this summer."
Mariano Dima, chief marketing officer at HomeAway, said: "UEFA EURO 2016 will attract many fans to the tournament and we are thrilled to help accommodate everyone in France. This event is a great opportunity for travellers to combine their passion for football with their love of travel, and gives them a chance to create life-long memories with loved ones. Our inventory of more than 170,000 entire properties throughout France provides the perfect solution for fans everywhere."
Abritel-HomeAway becomes the sixth and final national sponsor for UEFA EURO 2016, thereby completing the national sponsorship programme. The final global sponsor is due to be announced in the coming weeks.
